THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible
is the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.
2 Timothy 3:16; 2
Peter 1:20-21
GOD
We believe that
there One Godhead eternally existent in three distinct persons: God the
Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. These three are co-equal
and are One in the Holy union of Heaven. Genesis
1:1, 26-27; Genesis
17:1; Exodus 3:14-15; John 1:1-2
MAN
We believe that man
was created by God, and is spirit, soul and body. Man was made in the
image of God and to be like Him in character. As a result of Adam’s
sin, mankind is sinful by nature and this separates him from God. Being
born in sin, man needs to be “Born again,” sanctified and cleansed from
all sin by the blood of Jesus Christ.
Genesis 1:26-27;
Genesis 2:7; Psalm 8:3-8
ETERNITY
Man was created to
live forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin
or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. Separated from
God, man will experience eternal torment. United with God, man will
experience life eternal.
Matthew 19:28-29;
Revelation 21:1-3, 6-7; Revelation 20:11-15
SALVATION
Salvation is a gift
from God to man. We believe that man is saved by confessing with his
mouth the Lord Jesus and believing with his heart that God has raised
Jesus from the dead. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus
Christ into his heart by faith. Sanctification is that gracious and
continuous operation of the Holy Ghost, by which He delivers the
justified sinner from sin and renews his whole nature in the image of
God.
Romans 10:9-17; Ephesians 2:8-9; Mark 16:16
ORDINANCES OF THE
CHURCH
THE LORD’S SUPPER
(COMMUNION)
The Lord’s Supper is
a memorial symbolizing the Lord’s death until He comes. It is a
recognition and proclamation of the New Covenant.
Matthew 26:20-29; 1
Corinthians 11:23-30
WATER BAPTISM
We believe that
water baptism is an outward demonstration of that one has already had a
conversion experience and has accepted Christ as his personal Savior.
We do not believe that water baptism alone is a means of salvation.
1 Peter
3:21; Romans 6:4; Acts 8:36-39
FEET WASHING
Feet washing is
practiced in our church because Christ, by His example, washed feet. It
shows that humility characterizes greatness in the Kingdom of God.
John
13:4, 8-15 |
